In fact, several of them can be reached directly from Camping Palam\u00f3s without ever needing to get into a car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While thousands of visitors spend their holidays driving from beach to beach searching for parking spaces, Camping Palam\u00f3s guests can simply put on their walking shoes, grab a towel and start exploring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are seven hidden coves and natural corners that make this part of the Costa Brava so special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Cala Margarida \u2013 The Spirit of Palam\u00f3s<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there is one place that captures the essence of Palam\u00f3s, it is Cala Margarida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only a short walk from Camping Palam\u00f3s, this small fishing cove feels like a journey back in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

White fishermen’s houses sit directly beside the sea. Small boats rest on the shore. A narrow waterfront path connects terraces, boats and homes in a scene that feels almost too beautiful to be real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If someone asked us to generate the perfect image of the Costa Brava, it would probably look very similar to Cala Margarida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best time to visit is in the evening, when the light becomes softer and the setting sun reflects on the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests staying in the Margarida Lodge accommodations at Camping Palam\u00f3s experience something even more special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the sun rises, fishing boats leave the harbour and cross the bay. Later in the afternoon they return, often followed by flocks of seagulls hoping for an easy meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cove is small, peaceful and protected. The water is incredibly clear and the shallow area makes it ideal for families with young children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids can spend hours sitting in the water, playing with stones and pebbles while remaining safely close to shore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It feels more like a natural swimming pool than a beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most surprising thing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being so close to the town and harbour, the atmosphere remains remarkably calm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Morro del Vedell \u2013 A Natural Aquarium<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you enjoy snorkelling, this is the place to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Morro del Vedell is one of our favourite underwater spots near Camping Palam\u00f3s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shallow entrance makes access easy, while the rocky surroundings create excellent conditions for marine life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sea urchins, colourful fish, starfish and crabs are common sights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some lucky visitors even encounter octopuses hiding among the rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience often surprises people because they expect to find the best snorkelling spots far from town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, one of the most rewarding underwater areas is located just a short walk from the campsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Cala S’Alguer \u2013 The Costa Brava Postcard<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a reason why Cala S’Alguer appears in so many photographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The colourful fishermen’s houses create one of the most iconic landscapes on the Costa Brava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaching it on foot from Camping Palam\u00f3s is part of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The walk follows the famous Cam\u00ed de Ronda coastal path, offering spectacular sea views along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, locals sometimes joke that Cala Margarida is just as beautiful but somehow receives less international fame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps that’s not such a bad thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either way, Cala S’Alguer deserves its reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Castell Beach \u2013 A Natural Treasure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strictly speaking, Castell is not a hidden cove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But leaving it out of this list would be impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reached on foot or by bicycle from Camping Palam\u00f3s, Castell represents something increasingly rare on the Mediterranean coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many years ago, the people of Palam\u00f3s chose to preserve this area, helping protect one of the last large undeveloped coastal landscapes on the Costa Brava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors often experience the same feeling when they arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After walking through pine forests and natural surroundings, the landscape suddenly opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And there it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Estreta does both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessible only on foot, this famous naturist cove rewards those willing to make the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The atmosphere is unlike almost anywhere else on the Costa Brava.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even on busy summer days, there is a feeling of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest mistake visitors make is treating it like just another beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It isn’t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leave the loudspeaker behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Put your phone away for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen to the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is what Cala Estreta is really about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Cala Foradada \u2013 The Hidden Adventure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If one place feels like a movie scene, it is Cala Foradada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located near the ancient Iberian settlement of Castell, this remarkable spot can only be reached by kayak, paddleboard, boat or swimming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its name comes from the spectacular rock arch that gives the cove its distinctive appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors can actually pass beneath the rock formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around the rocks you’ll often find marine life including crabs, octopuses and starfish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what makes Cala Foradada special isn’t only the destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s the journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reaching it feels like discovering a secret place that somehow escaped the attention of the modern world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when guests return home, this is often the cove they talk about most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
